✈️ In Other News:
FlySafair confirmed introduces a temporary fuel surcharge on airline tickets due to soaring oil prices. The surcharge will come into effect on 12 March.
What this means for customers
Applies only to flights departing on or before 12 May 2026
Clearly itemised on tickets for full transparency
If you have already booked, your fare will not change.
Existing bookings remain fully protected and will never be charged retrospectively. The surcharge will be reviewed regularly & reduced or removed once fuel prices stabilise.
Airlink & SAA are adjusting ticket pricing due to a spike in aviation fuel costs.
Early indications point to a ‘fuel surcharge’ been implemented by some local airline carriers.

Emirates introduces updated safety guidelines for carrying power banks onboard. Effective immediately, the following requirements apply:
• Each customer may carry one (1) power bank with a capacity of less than 100 watt-hours in their cabin baggage (hand Luggage).
• Power banks must not be used to charge personal devices during the flight.
• Charging power banks using the aircraft’s power supply is strictly prohibited.
• All power banks must display clear capacity rating information.
• Power banks must NOT be placed in overhead stowage bins.
• Power banks remain prohibited in checked baggage.
