Ceo TAG (Travel Assignment Group) Jonathan Gerber recently ‘ticked-off’ a #bucketlist adventure and by all accounts it was simply outstanding!
“This past weekend I was lucky enough attend the Ryder Cup 2023 in Rome.
The Ryder Cup is a biennial men’s golf competition between teams from Europe and the USA. The competition is contested every two years with the venue alternating between courses in the US & Europe.
The 2023 action took place at the spectacular Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome.
This was always an event that I wanted to attend and boy am I glad that I did. Being an ardent golfer this was always a bucket list item for me and wow did it live up to my expectations. It was simply amazing! The sheer scale and size of the event is something to behold and the fans are just brilliant with songs, good humour and overall exuberance. I can honestly say that it was one of the better sporting events of my life, I think second only to the 1995 Rugby World Cup final in terms of vibe atmosphere and meaning. It was quite simply spectacular and I am truly grateful that I was invited and got to enjoy this world class event.
I was also amazed how busy Rome is and that #travel is alive and kicking and all back to normal, some would say ‘back to the good old days’!
