WTTC – Optimistic forecast for travel recovery – WTTC has revealed that the global travel & tourism sector’s contribution to the global economy could reach US$8,6 trillion (R132 trillion) this year, just 6,4% behind pre-pandemic levels.
US/SA – United Airlines is quickly capitalising on the potential it sees in African markets. United will add a new, year-round service btw CT & NY in June. Bob Schumacher, Regional Director for Sales, acknowledges the importance of the trade in building the airline’s transatlantic business.
Germany/KNP – Eurowings to commence direct flights from Frankfurt to the Kruger National Park. In its first season (Nov 15, 2022 to March 25, 2023), the airline will fly three times a week from Frankfurt to Mbombela KMIA, with a short stopover in Windhoek.
