Israel – Reported, Israel’s Ben Gurion airport will stop departures and arrivals for two hours as part of a nationwide strike today
#Cruising – Holland America Line is inviting South Africans to sample its 2025 Grand World Voyage by making it possible to book segments of the world cruise. Segments of the cruise can now be booked by South African travel agents from US$169 (R2 990) pppd. More with TAG agents.
Viking® announces six new itineraries in Asia that will expand exclusive access for guests to Japan & China, with Tibet (Xizang) in 2025. The new voyages range from 15 to 22 days exploring iconic destinations in China, including Shanghai, Beijing, Xi’an,Lhasa in Tibet (Xizang) & Osaka, Japan.
Holland America Line is opening bookings for its 2026 Alaska cruise season. With six ships in the region, the cruise line is filling each voyage with experiences designed around vacationers’ top reasons to visit Alaska.
#airlines Singapore Airlines – confirmed as the first international airline to operate at the new Western Sydney International Airport. The airport is more than 80% complete & on track to open in late 2026.
New Gabonese carrier, FlyGabon, intends to start operations from its Libreville hub on Aug 31. Initially, it will launch flights for the domestic market, but voiced its desire to fly on international routes before the end of this year, with Joburg a key target.
