USA – Denver Airport delays expected as its reported a major winter storm arrives tonight. Airlines have issued travel waivers, with delays and cancellations expected as crews clear snow from runways. Travellers advised to check for updated flight information before travelling to the airport.

✈️ Emirates Updates/Increased Capacity – have reintroduced its A380 to its Copenhagen route, offering 43% more seats. On Jan 2, Emirates introduced an additional scheduled service between Colombo & Dubai, increasing seat capacity on the route by 30%. The carrier is also accelerating the deployment of its Airbus A350s to Kuwait & Bahrain, starting Jan 8.
Emirates has also started its journey to become the world’s first ‘Autism Certified Airline’, inviting customers with autism and sensory sensitivities to experience its services.
✈️ Qatar Airways landed its first resumption flight at Abha International Airport (AHB) in Saudi Arabia on January 2. The airline will operate two weekly flights to Abha every Thursday & Saturday. From July 2, Qatar Airways will resume four weekly flights to Malta. Qatar Airways will resume daily flights to Canberra from Dec 1, 2025.
✈️ Turkish Airlines Updates – On January 14, Turkish Airlines resumed its three-weekly flights to Benghazi, Libya, following a 10-year hiatus.
✈️ BA’s Loyalty Programme Update – Effective April 1, 2025, BA is overhauling its loyalty programme, Executive Club, rebranding it as ‘The British Airways Club’ & moving to a revenue-based model.
✈️ Delta Air Lines – has reported its financial results for the full year 2024, with the airline posting an operating revenue of US$61,6bn (R1,1trn).
