Leading into Women’s Day Weekend ✨
In our delicious Cake Series Celebration, we honour two absolute powerhouses of Team TAG — women whose very core is leadership, mentorship and the courage to show up authentically.
They are bold.
They are brave.
They are real.

As we head into this special weekend, let this Friday TAG (Travel Assignment Group) Tart Edition be your gentle reminder:

✨ Stay close to those who inspire you.
✨ Cherish those who believe in you.
✨ Value those who support you.
✨ Celebrate with those who celebrate you.

Here’s to women who lead with both heart and grit and to surrounding ourselves with the kind of people who make us better.

Joelene Roberts describes ➡️ Kriloshni Gounden – Our Millionaire’s Shortbread A sweet treat with layers of brilliance — Just like you, Krilo.

That buttery biscuit base?
Solid, reliable and quietly holding it all together — a foundation of strength and dedication.
Your commitment to learning, your integrity, your consistency, that’s the dependable layer we all lean on.
Then comes the silky caramel centre — warm, generous and full of heart. This is where your passion shines ~ for your work, for TAG and for the people lucky enough to work beside you. Every task you touch becomes something infused with care and a touch of magic.
And the rich chocolate topping? That’s your polish, your flair, your steady transformation into a force to be reckoned with. A little bold, delightfully sweet and always leaving a lasting impression.

Millionaire’s Shortbread may sound indulgent, but like you, it’s about value.
You are one in a million ~ a rare find, layered with potential, promise and power.

It has been such an honour to walk beside you and watch you rise.
Your future is already shining with possibility — because like any great dessert, you leave us inspired, comforted and always wanting more.
Keep reaching, keep glowing ~ and never forget:
You’re the gold dust in our TAG ‘kitchen’ and the sparkle in our success.

Terry Annandale describes Joelene Roberts – Queen Crunchie
She is a little nutty like the coconut ingredient,
She is a warm and gives comfort when you feel down
She is crunchy when you need a laugh
She is sweet as sugar and syrup ( main ingredient )
And her personality is as rich as the butter in these little bits of delicious.

Just the kind of woman who gets things done,
Overcoming each challenge, second to none.
Empowered, bold and fiercely true,
Lifting others in all she’ll do.
Energy strong with a heart so kind,
Never afraid to speak her mind.
Every workplace needs a Joelene –
One of a kind a true QUEEN!!

Happy Women’s Day Weekend Taggers – Enjoy it All,
One Slice at a Time!

Appreciation is a wonderful thing.
It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well. ~Voltaire

TAG (Travel Assignment Group) sisterhood celebrating and honouring the power, passion and beauty in ourselves and the women around us.

Denise Johnson describes ➡️ Nontsikelelo Mahlangu – A delicate vanilla sponge cake-light airy and effortlessly elegant!
Her youthful energy is like a tender crumb fresh & full of life. Her refined features are like the smooth creamy frosting adding this touch of sophistication and poise. Her warmth and kindness are like the sweet , gentle flavours making everyone feel welcome and at ease.
With Ntsiki every moment is a celebration like the first bite of a delicious vanilla sponge cake that delight the senses.

shirani gaymans describes ➡️ michelle powell – Dark Chocolate Cupcake Elegance Michelle is rich in depth and full of character—refined, yet delightfully bold. She carries a quiet confidence, a perfect balance of strength and sweetness, adding a touch of sophistication to every room she enters. Subtle, steady and just the right amount of indulgent, she’s a timeless classic ~ not showy, but unforgettable. She leaves a lasting impression, not by being loud, but by being consistently graceful, thoughtful and real.
She’s the kind of person you’re always grateful to have in your corner
~ a calming presence with a powerful core.

Genavieve Hendricks describes Kersha Naidoo Sassy Lemony Zesty Cheesecake. She’s the dessert that turns heads — bold, bright and unapologetically herself. Friendly and warm like a creamy first bite, Kersha wraps you in sweetness… then hits you with a zesty kick of sass and confidence. A showstopper with flair, her laughter is infectious, her presence unforgettable. Like a buttery biscuit base, her empathy grounds everything she does — strong, supportive and full of heart. She’s drama, delight and dazzling energy rolled into one irresistible treat — always surprising, always leaving you wanting more. A truly sweet masterpiece!

Aunty Emily Julius describes ➡️ Theodorah Mabona – Swiss Roll Surprise Cake Calm & composed on the outside, but full of depth and delight within. Like the swirl of a Swiss roll, Theo’s layers reveal warmth, kindness, talent and rich life experiences as you get to know her. Soft, sweet and resilient, she’s shaped by life’s twists with quiet strength & grace. And like the best homemade cake—imperfect perhaps, but always authentic, comforting and truly special.

Wacky-Wednesday Double Dessert-Personality Series!

Gillian Hurford describes ➡️ Nadine Morley – Carrot Cake Classic!
A true classic, someone who is not flashy or overly sweet just like a simple carrot cake. She is comforting, genuine & full of character. She has layers of experience, wisdom & full of flavour but sometimes spiced. A carrot cake is always a favourite, always on the table, always there when you need them just like the reliable slice that shows up at every gathering.

Pauline Collinson describes ➡️ Gillian Hurford -Layered rainbow cake
From the outside, she presents a simple, smooth frosting — an unassuming exterior that conceals a rich, vibrant interior. Beneath that surface lies a spectrum of colourful layers, each one representing a unique aspect of her life, emotions & experiences. These colours tell the story of her journey
~ the joy, the struggles, the growth — all stacked one upon the other.
Each layer is a different facet of her identity, revealing the complexity & depth that isn’t immediately visible. Just like a rainbow cake surprises & delights when cut open, Jazzy’s true self is a beautiful reveal for those who take the time to look beyond the façade.

Nadine Morley describes ➡️ Debbie Van Heerden -Pavlova – The Main Event!! Bursting with energy, laughter & bold— this dessert is crisp with confidence, soft at the heart, topped with a riot of colour. Frosted with optimism, layered with ambition & infused with just the right kick of mischief, she is the dazzling centerpiece at any table. Always the life of the party, she plays hard (especially on the paddle court), sparkles with grace, and leaves an impression. Deliciously daring as ever — whipping up joy, turning heads & on the lookout for someone sweet enough to match her sparkle. Healthy but enjoys a treat ~ especially when it comes with whipped cream & a little spoiling on the side.

Candice Cabrita describes Alison Leon – Marvellous Marble Cake!
Effortlessly mixing humour, warmth & just the right amount of mischief into everything she does. You never know where the next laugh is going to come from, but with her, it’s always there, baked right in. Her blend of light & dark humour keeps you on your toes and life at work definitely wouldn’t be the same without those swirls of personality. Without Ali, things might feel just a little too plain vanilla.

Alison Leon describes ➡️ Candice Cabrita – A Lemon Blueberry Layer Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting Like her cake, Candice is layered with intention & grace. The lemon cake base reflects her sharp focus & purposeful approach, while the burst of berries represents her heart for service & people. She finishes as strong as she starts ~ with another zesty lemon layer showing her consistency & follow-through. Topped with a calm, creamy frosting, she brings balance & warmth to every interaction. And those final touches of blueberries & lemon slices? Pure professionalism & polish, just like Candice!

Every Stroke Counts | Swim for Change | TAG Foundation

Not all heroes wear capes…
Some wear speedos, brave icy waters and swim across the English Channel in September — all to change lives through education.

This is no ordinary swim.
This is 34 km of cold, unforgiving waters.
This is navigating one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes.
This is mental grit, physical courage and a heart filled with purpose.

And this is the extraordinary challenge accepted by Simon Wilkins, a man with a cause far greater than himself.

Gratitude. Admiration. Awe.
Simon and Natalie have stood beside our TAG Foundation for years — loyal supporters, quiet changemakers and true believers in our mission. Their generosity, commitment and faith in our young scholars have helped us go further, dream bigger and build a brighter tomorrow.

We are deeply moved and honoured that Simon has chosen to take on this epic personal challenge in support of our Foundation.

“We should certainly count our blessings, but we should also make our blessings count.”
~ Neal A. Maxwell

Why This Matters:
In a world that can often feel chaotic, Simon reminds us that hope swims stronger. With each stroke, he’s cutting through the noise, replacing despair with possibility.
Every kilometre brings us closer to another King Edward VII School TAG Foundation Scholarship recipient empowered, another life changed, another ripple in a sea of transformation.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

Let’s rally behind Simon. Let’s back every stroke with purpose.

Pledge an amount per kilometre swum
Donate towards the campaign
Share Simon’s story far and wide

One Swim. One Future. Every Stroke Counts.

Simon, we are in awe of you. Thank you for backing our mission — for being a lighthouse of hope and a true champion of what it means to give back. We’ll be cheering for every stroke, every tide, every moment.

Let’s go, Taggers!
Let’s make waves — together.

Every Kilometre Counts.

This September, I’ll attempt to swim across the English Channel, a 34km journey through freezing water, strong tides, and one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes.

But I’m not doing it for a medal or a record.

I’m doing it to raise funds for the TAG Foundation, a South African charity that provides full bursaries and mentorship to boys from underprivileged backgrounds , giving them the opportunity to attend King Edward VII School and change the course of their lives.

Every kilometre I swim will help fund a child’s future.

I’d be incredibly grateful if you’d consider pledging a small amount per kilometre – even R10/km makes a difference. All pledges will only be collected after the swim, once my final distance is confirmed.

Help me turn this challenge into something meaningful.
Let’s swim for education. Let’s swim for change.
